Something to consider before you get a Husky

So you think you want a Siberian Husky? This video is about something that you should consider before committing yourself to Husky ownership. Huskies go through a big shed, or “blow out”, twice a year. This can last around 3-6 weeks, and during this period they lose A LOT of fur! (I fill up grocery bags full of my dog’s hair) You need to brush them every day during their blow out, and be ready to have your couch, clothes, and everything else covered in dog fur.

But you have a pretty husky either way =]

So you want a Siberian Husky? Do you actually want to be responsible for your dog!?!? DIDN’T THINK SO!
Seriously? I had my husky for eight years and he’s awesome. Never complained about brushing him, just how he looked before I brushed him. I’d totally own like two more if money was no thang.

Thats a bad brush to use on a husky, unless you want to take the time to brush forever.

I have 2 huskies so I have FUR coats daily lol but they are really loyal babies

@YamiYomi Oh I see. You can probably purchase the whole process on ebay. But if you go into a Petsmart they have a force dryier which blows out a lot of the undercoat. It’s pretty powerful. But the furminator conditioner is genius. Just get the conditioner and a regular brush (the furminator brush is pretty awesome too but it’s expensive.)

  6. YamiYomi says:

@DominoShadow Thank you for the comment i actually did not know that, because i think that the furminator only exits in certain shops because i never saw one…so they gave me that trick…

  7. DominoShadow says:

@roxasrox123 All dogs need excersize everyday. Huskies and over high energy breeds simply recquire LONGER periods of excersize.

  8. DominoShadow says:

@YamiYomi I’m a dog groomer as well. Brushing against the coat is damaging to their skin. The best thing to do is go to a groomer who offers the ‘furminator’ 3 times a year. It reduces shedding by 98%.

  9. DominoShadow says:

@unc13buck ALL dogs are decendants from wolves. We have been domesticating them for hundreds if not thousands of years.

    Not really that bad

@Paumonsu thats not a nice comment

  13. unc13buck says:

    @roxasrox123
They are not descendants of wolves please stop spreading this crap.

Here’s a trick brush him in the other way of the fur like instead in doing in the sense and way the fur goes to take off the supplement fur-coat go in the other way, than wash him than dry him with a hairblower a big one and brush him again do that twice a month but brush him everyday!

    From a dog/cat groomer.

You also need to excercise them usually every day an I got to the point to where it was making me late for work and so u just got my husky a cheap treadmill. And they are still decendants of wolfs so they are agressive sometimes but they are very easy to train and control if you know when to be controlling. But like people say it’s so worth it and they are a loyal and loving and proud breed.

  16. MissTigerLily89 says:

They are so worth it though. . . I just overlook the whole Blowing Coat phenomenon. We get past the hair coating everything, having to vacuum everyday, and having hair in our food, because our husky is the best dog we could have asked for. They truly are one of the greatest breeds, I’ve owned a lot of dogs, but now that I’ve had a husky, I don’t think I could ever choose another breed of dog.

Your dog is gorgeous, btw, and I love her name (:

  17. Paumonsu says:

Your dog’s as pretty as you :)

the dog is like leave me alone lady im trying to nap here lmao lol

  19. UchihaXX says:

Use the Furminator because my husky shedding went from 100% down to like 4%. I can now pet my Husky without having a ton of hair on my hands, and yeah I wouldnt brush my dog on the couch because the little small dog hair that gets left behind unless you like vaccuming after. I think Husky are still a wonderful dog once you get use to brushing them which kinda to me becomes second nature. I think your Husky is great too!

  20. dancedayanadance says:

thats gross. who brushes their shedding dog’s hair on a couch. thats nasty.

  21. cevans87wa says:

It usually only last for 3 weeks, it’s not so difficult to do a little nice brush session for that short amount of time, my husky is shedding now and its not a hassle. He loves when I brush him. <3 (I’m trying to avoid wearing black though..lol)

  22. tinkellbell84 says:
